WE ARE C.A.R. CERTIFIED
A new achievement has been unlocked by our CEO and a highly experienced property inspector, Clark Gerdes, who is now a “C.A.R Certified Home Inspector”. He had successfully passed a background check and has met the E&O and Liability insurance requirements.
This certification further proves his expertise and professionalism in the field.
Clark Gerdes takes pride in working towards the safety of our clients and goes to all lengths to provide satisfaction to them. In addition to this, he also holds ASHI – #268173 and CRIEA – #166834 certifications.
For many years there have been legislative attempts to license Property Inspectors. While they have failed for many reasons, CAR has always been opposed to tying the standards to their own governing body and attempts to limit liability. C.A.R. is taking active steps to implement a statewide private vetting service that will give members a choice of qualified home inspectors of the utmost quality, that have met our standards. The program includes background checks, minimum liability insurance, education, and identified vendors that are using best practices in times of COVID-19.
With the onset of COVID 19, and inspection practice moving towards home inspection when no other individuals are present, identifying inspectors with a clear background and who follow best practices is becoming increasingly relevant.
In addition, finding home inspectors that maintain liability insurance and are highly educated and trained is necessary to assure the public that they have a qualified home inspector.
The California Association of REALTORS® has a list of Certified Home Inspectors for our REALTOR® members. Participants in the C.A.R. Certified Home Inspector program have passed a background check and have met a minimum E&O and Liability insurance requirement. In addition, participants in this program have met certain levels of training or education from a State or National trade Association or a home inspection education service such as iGo Academy.
